Count stock

What this is for

Count what is physically in a warehouse and post the difference so EpicBiz matches the shelf.

Concepts

Needs Inventory. Stock Taking is the list. Add New Stock Taking is a Draft count. Confirm posts it.

You can only count Enforced (check stock) warehouses — not Unlimited (virtual warehouse).

On Edit Stock Taking, you enter counted qty (and serials when the item needs them). Confirm on the document posts all lines.

Before you start

• Add a warehouse in enforced mode.
• Tracked items exist. Prefer a quiet moment so receipts/shipments do not race the count.

Steps

1. Open Stock Taking.
2. Click the plus. In Add New Stock Taking, choose Warehouse, Date, Responsible User, and who else counts if asked. Add categories/items as the form requires. Save.
3. Open Edit Stock Taking. Enter the physical qty for each line (serials if shown).
4. Click Confirm. Confirm the dialog. The document becomes view-only.

What happens next

See stock in Product List — Current Stock should match the count.

If you were missing serials, Find a serial number after they are registered.

If something looks wrong

• No enforced warehouse addresses available for stock taking. The warehouse is Unlimited — switch it to Enforced (check stock) or count a real warehouse.
• Confirm is missing. You are already viewing a posted count.
• Qty did not change. You saved the draft but did not Confirm.
