Manage saved cards¶
What this is for¶
Keep customer cards on file so you can charge invoices (and see which cards are expired).
Concepts¶
Needs the Credit Card module turned on and configured (Stripe). The list title is Credit Cards.
Columns: Customer, CC Type, Number, Expiration Date. Actions: Edit Credit Card, Delete Credit Card, Request Credit Card Update (email asking them to refresh the card). Plus is Add Credit Card.
You can also Add Credit Card from the customer. Credit Card on file on the Dashboard is a count, not this list.
A red card badge in the header opens this list filtered to expired cards.
This is not Record a payment itself. Saving a card lets later payments / auto-charge use it.
Customer portal card links are a different product — not this manual.
Before you start¶
- Credit Card module Enabled, Stripe keys saved on the module page.
- The customer exists.
Steps¶
- Open Credit Cards (module menu), or the customer → add card.
- Click Add Credit Card. Complete Add Credit Card (customer and card fields the modal shows). Save.
- To refresh expiry: Edit Credit Card.
- To ask the customer to update: Request Credit Card Update.
- To remove: Delete Credit Card.
Filter and Print to CSV work like other lists.
What happens next¶
On an invoice, charge with the card when you record a payment, or tick Charge invoice automatically on due date when you bill a contract.
If something looks wrong¶
- No Credit Cards menu. Enable and finish the module under Company Settings → Modules.
- Your Stripe Credit Card module is executing in Test mode — charges are not live until you switch the module out of test.
- Expired badge stays. Edit the card or delete it; the count is expired rows only.
