Schedule a price adjustment¶
What this is for¶
Raise or lower prices on an Active contract on a date you choose — without a change order that adds or removes products.
Concepts¶
Price adjustments is the chart-line icon on View Contract when status is Active (or Prepare cancel). The modal title is Price Adjustment.
Each row is a scheduled change:
- Effective Date — when it should apply.
- Type — Percent or Fixed amount.
- Value — the percent or the money amount.
- Recurrence — Once, or Every N months (then Months).
Schedule adds the row. The table shows Effective Date, Adjustment, Recurrence, Status, Applied at. A Pending row can Cancel. Empty table: No price adjustments scheduled.
This does not add or remove catalog lines. For extra products or a take-away, Create a change order.
Before you start¶
- The contract is Active (or awaiting cancel). Draft contracts do not show the icon.
Steps¶
- Open the contract.
- Click Price adjustments.
- Set Effective Date, Type, Value, and Recurrence. If Every N months, set Months.
- Click Schedule.
- Click Close when you are done reviewing the list.
To drop a future change: Cancel on that Pending row.
What happens next¶
When the effective date arrives, the product applies the change to the contract prices. Later invoices use the new amounts. Bill a contract as usual.
If something looks wrong¶
- The icon is missing. Status is still Draft, or the contract is already cancelled.
- Price adjustments can only be scheduled on active contracts. Activate first.
- You meant to add a product, not change prices. Use a change order.
