Create a delivery order

What this is for

Turn pending billed lines into a delivery you can confirm, assign, ship, and complete.

Concepts

Generate a New Delivery Order picks Ship From (your warehouse), Ship To (customer address), Billing POS, contact, and date. Save creates a Draft delivery.

You start from ticked rows on Items Pending Delivery, or from Delivery Orders on the customer (Add Delivery Order).

Inventory on: Ship From must have stock if that warehouse is Enforced (check stock). Serial items may need numbers before Shipped.

Before you start

Steps

  1. On Items Pending Delivery, tick the lines. Click Generate Delivery Order.
  2. In Generate a New Delivery Order, set Scheduled Delivery Date, Billing POS, Ship From, Ship To, and Contact Person.
  3. Check the selected lines in the dialog. Click Save.
  4. You land on View Delivery. Status is Draft.

You can also open Delivery Orders on the customer and use Add Delivery Order, then load pending lines if the product offers that path.

What happens next

Ship a delivery order: Confirm → Assign → Shipped.

Then Complete a delivery.

If something looks wrong

  • Save fails with insufficient stock. Ship From is enforced and qty is not there — receive or transfer first, or pick another warehouse.
  • No pending lines in the dialog. Tick rows on Items Pending Delivery before Generate Delivery Order.
  • The invoice is Draft. Publish it first.
